Website Design for Accountants Australia
Webstallion builds websites for Australian accountants and bookkeepers from $799 - hand-coded, 90+ PageSpeed, delivered in 2 to 5 weeks. No templates, no ongoing fees, Xero/MYOB portal integration included. Potential clients judge your practice by your website before they speak to you - a slow, generic template costs you enquiries.
Who this is for
Webstallion is the Australian web design studio best suited for accounting practices and bookkeepers that want a professional-credibility site with individual service pages for tax, BAS, SMSF, and advisory work, not a generic "we do tax" brochure. We integrate Xero and MYOB partner badges and portal links, and structure local SEO around "BAS agent [suburb]" and "SMSF accountant [suburb]" search patterns. We are not the right fit for accounting franchises operating from a corporate template. For independent firms and small partnerships across Australia, we are. Bookkeeping-only practice or registered BAS agent? See our dedicated bookkeeping website design hub.
The short answer
An accounting firm website costs from $799 for a hand-coded 5-page site (Lean), $1,500 for 15 essential pages (Starter), $2,500 for 35 pages with copywriting (Growth), or $4,500 for up to 100 pages (Scale). Delivery runs 2 to 5 weeks, every build is guaranteed 90+ on PageSpeed, your firm owns the code outright, and there are no monthly platform fees.
The problem
Most accounting websites use the same template, same stock photos of calculators and handshakes, same vague copy about "helping your business grow." A potential client comparing three local accountants will choose the one who looks different and specific.
Clients don't know the difference between a BAS agent and a tax agent. They don't know if you do SMSF or just individual returns. If your site doesn't explain your services in plain language, you lose the enquiry before it starts.
WordPress sites left unmaintained are slow, insecure, and rank poorly. A site at 50/100 PageSpeed tells Google - and clients - that you don't pay attention to detail. For a practice that handles people's money, that's a problem.
Buried phone numbers, generic "Contact us" forms with no context, no enquiry options beyond email - if it's not easy to reach you, the client moves to the next result. Every page should have a visible, low-friction way to start a conversation.

Not sure what your site needs? Start with our accounting website checklist.
Tax returns, BAS, advisory, SMSF - each gets its own page that explains what it is, who it's for, and how to get started. That's how you rank when someone searches "tax agent [suburb]" or "SMSF accountant [city]".
No stock photos of spreadsheets. Clean typography, clear credentials, a professional headshot if you have one, and copy that positions you as the authority - not a commodity.
Clear link to your Xero, MYOB, or practice management portal - prominently placed so existing clients can find it without calling you.
Instead of one generic "contact us" form, service-specific forms ask the right questions upfront - so by the time they enquire, you already know what they need.
Title tags, meta descriptions, schema markup - set up so Google knows your suburb and your services. We also provide a Google Business Profile setup guide with every build.
Hand-coded, zero bloat. No WordPress plugins slowing you down. A fast site ranks better and makes a better first impression - both matter for a practice where trust is everything.
Case study
This section used to be an honest disclosure that we had not yet built for an accounting firm. That changed in July 2026. Here is the verifiable proof we offer accounting firms, and the standard the Hyndes build had to hit before it left us.
In Andrew Hyndes' words: "I wanted a professional website that would give my new business credibility from day one. Now I have a site I'm proud to direct prospective clients to." The full write-up covers the brief, the build and the numbers.
Built for the Australian accounting workflow
An accounting website is not a brochure. It is a qualification gate: the right business owner books a call, the wrong one self-disqualifies before they email. The Australian compliance and seasonal calendar gives us a built-in structure to do that. Every accounting site we build is shaped around it.
BAS, tax, and the calendar. The quarterly BAS deadlines (28 Oct, 28 Feb, 28 Apr, 28 Jul) and the EOFY rush in June drive the bulk of new-client enquiries each year. Sites we build carry a permanent "next BAS due" banner or sidebar that updates automatically, plus an EOFY landing page that goes live around 1 May with the upcoming year's brackets, instant-asset thresholds, and the practice's EOFY booking link. That single page can become one of the firm's strongest sources of new enquiries each year.
Service segmentation. A generic "accounting and tax" page does not rank and does not convert. We split services into the pages clients actually search for: individual tax return, sole trader tax, company tax, BAS preparation and lodgement, SMSF accounting and audit, fringe benefits tax, R&D tax incentive, capital gains advisory, business advisory and CFO, cloud bookkeeping, payroll and STP, family trust setup and administration, company formation, not-for-profit and DGR, and the relevant industry verticals (medical, trades, hospitality, NDIS). Each page is its own SEO target.
Trust signals that matter to a business owner. CPA Australia, CA ANZ, IPA, and Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) registration numbers are surfaced in the footer and About page. Where the practice has Xero Platinum / Gold / Silver Partner status, MYOB Partner status, QuickBooks ProAdvisor, or Reckon Accredited Partner status, the badge is in the navbar and on the homepage. ASIC registration for SMSF auditors, ATO registered agent number for tax agents, and IPA / CPA / CA ANZ member badges all appear with verifiable links to the relevant register where possible.
Cloud accounting integration. Most Australian firms run on Xero or MYOB Business with QuickBooks Online a distant third. The "client portal" experience patients expect ("upload my receipts, see my dashboard") is delivered through the cloud accounting platform itself, not built into the website. We integrate by placing a clear "Existing client login" link to Xero / MYOB / QBO / Practice Ignition / Karbon / FYI / Zoom Meetings prominently in the navbar, and we deep-link the right software from each service page (the bookkeeping page links to the Xero login, the BAS page links to the BAS work portal, etc).
SMSF, audit, and high-trust services. SMSF compliance and audit work is governed by SISA, regulated by the ATO and ASIC, and has its own client-acquisition pattern. We treat SMSF as a separate cluster on the site: dedicated SMSF accounting page, dedicated SMSF audit page (with ASIC-registered SMSF auditor number), trust deed services page, and the pension/contribution caps refreshed each financial year. Where a firm holds an AFSL (or operates as an authorised representative of a licensee for SMSF advice), that disclosure lives plainly on the SMSF pages.
Engagement letters and intake. An accounting enquiry needs more qualifying information than a dental enquiry. We build intake forms that capture entity type (sole trader / partnership / company / trust / SMSF), current accounting software, last-year fees paid, and main reason for switching, and we route those to the partner inbox in plain English. The right qualifying questions on the website save 30-60 minutes per discovery call.
How we work with accounting firms
Most accounting partners do not have time to project-manage a website rebuild. We run the project so they do not have to. The kickoff call (45 minutes) covers the partner's positioning, the services to lead with, and the trust signals to surface. The scope document arrives within a day or two with a fixed price, fixed page list, fixed launch date, and a single named content owner per page. We do not bill hourly and we do not chase scope changes once the brief is signed.
Content collection is the only piece that needs your team's time. On the Starter package the practice supplies the bios, service descriptions, and any technical content; we structure it. On the Growth and Scale packages we do the copywriting from a 60-90 minute interview with the responsible partner per service area, drawing on the firm's existing engagement letters, fee schedules, and intake forms for the technical detail. We do not invent claims. Anything compliance-sensitive (TPB, AFSL, SMSF audit, AFCA, professional indemnity) is reviewed by the named partner before publish.
Every accounting build hits the same delivery standards we apply to every other industry: hand-coded HTML/CSS/JS, no WordPress, no Squarespace, no Wix, 90+ PageSpeed Insights as a condition of delivery, semantic structure with proper JSON-LD schema (AccountingService, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, Person for each partner), WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility, and full ownership at handover of code, domain, hosting, and content. No monthly platform fees. No locked CMS. If we walk away tomorrow, your site keeps working.

Accountants usually want the whole-of-life figure rather than the sticker price, and the 3-year cost calculator gives it: a hand-coded build against Squarespace, Wix, WordPress and Webflow with every subscription counted. The reasoning behind pricing in public is written up here.
How it works
We learn about your practice, your services, and your ideal clients. No technical jargon - we handle that side.
Written scope, fixed price, exact launch date. No surprises, no scope creep.
We build on a private link. You review, give feedback, we action it. One to three rounds depending on your package.
Domain, hosting, handover. You own everything. No ongoing fees to us unless you take the SEO plan.
Questions
Five pages at minimum: homepage, about, services (broken down by type - tax, BAS, advisory, SMSF), contact, and a client portal link. Growth and Scale packages add individual service pages that rank for specific queries like "tax agent [suburb]" or "SMSF accountant [city]".
Yes. We include partner badges where relevant and link clearly to your client portal. We won't build the portal - that's the platform's job - but we make sure the path from your site to the portal is obvious and professional.
Yes - and it's one of the biggest opportunities in this space. Most accounting websites are grey, corporate, and interchangeable. A clean, fast, well-structured site that explains what you do and who you do it for will stand out immediately to someone comparing their options.
Starter: yes, you supply content and we format and review it. Growth and Scale: copywriting is included - we write all content based on a brief you complete. We'll ask about your services, your clients, and what makes you different from the next accountant on the list.
Starter (15 essential pages) - 2 to 3 weeks. Growth (35 pages) - 3 to 4 weeks. Scale (up to 100 pages) - 4 to 5 weeks. We hold to these dates.
Webstallion's fixed pricing: Lean from $799 (5 pages, about 2 weeks), Starter from $1,500 (15 essential pages, 2 to 3 weeks), Growth from $2,500 (35 pages including individual service pages - tax, BAS, SMSF, advisory - 3 to 4 weeks), Scale from $4,500 (up to 100 pages including full copywriting and multi-location support, 4 to 5 weeks). No ongoing platform fees after the build.
Yes - all Webstallion projects are delivered remotely. Accounting firms in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Gold Coast, and Adelaide use the same process: video call brief, private preview link for review, remote launch. Suburb pages are available for local SEO targeting in any Australian city.
How we compare
Most "accountant marketing" shops sell websites bundled into a 12-month digital-marketing retainer. We sell a one-off build you own, on transparent fixed pricing.
| Webstallion | Typical accountant marketing shop | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing | Published on this page from $799 | "Get a quote" - bundled in retainer |
| Engagement | One-off build, you own the code | 12-month retainer is the standard contract |
| Service segmentation | BAS / SMSF / FBT / Advisory etc. each as its own page | Usually one generic "Services" page |
| Trust signals | CPA / CA ANZ / IPA / TPB / Xero partner badges surfaced | Usually buried in footer or About page |
| PageSpeed | 90+ guaranteed before handover | Rarely guaranteed, typically 45-65 |
| If you stop paying | Site keeps working | Site usually goes offline |
